[:en]Radio still remains to be one of the most accessible media tools in the world. It becomes a critical link for young people to access life-saving information about their choices and their future. With the collaboration of Rádio Moçambique (RM), the Ministry of Education, UNESCO and Parents Associations launched the program: “O Munda Sem Segredos – A World Without Secrets” – a weekly radio broadcast targeted in regions across Mozambique. The program broadcasted a variety of content through live reporting, interviews, testimonials and music that was created and developed by children and youth age 6-16.

The radio program aimed to encourage an open dialogue about youth’s sexual health and rights with other young people and their communities. Cross cutting themes were debated and discussed on air to promote topics including HIV/AIDS prevention, teenage pregnancy, healthy relationships and gender equality.

The broadcasts expanded across several regions of the country including Cabo Delgado, Zambezia Tete, Maputo, Sofala, Manica, Gaza, Niassa, Nampula, Inhambane and Radio City-Maputo.

Since it first launched 2 years ago, O Mundo Sem Segredos continues and is growing with success. However, what is most important is that the program is working to empower youth-led ownership and participation. It is providing youth and young people the rare opportunity to explore a variety of educational and developmental topics with other young people in their community – providing them with confidence and a voice for change.
